Daniela Scott and Samuel Picchi opened Croccante & Co in August 2025
Daniela Scott and Samuel Picchi opened Croccante & Co in August 2025. They had been friends for fifteen years, and had worked together for most of them, before they opened the door on Lynedoch Place.
Samuel had already opened a shop like this in Italy.
Our staff are Italian and we buy Italian produce. What you get is a West End shop where the schiacciata is baked fresh, filled after you order it, and handed over hot, and where you can ask our team what is in anything before you order.
Croccante means crunchy. That is the whole idea.
Samuel had already opened a shop like this in Italy
Samuel had opened and run a shop like this one in Italy before Croccante & Co existed. That is where the schiacciata comes from.

Our staff are Italian, and we buy Italian produce.
What that means at the counter is that the person filling your schiacciata can tell you what is in it, how it is meant to be eaten, and what to try instead if it is not for you.
The bread is baked fresh and filled after you order it. Croccante means crunchy, and that is the part we will not compromise on.
Two friends, fifteen years, one shop on Lynedoch Place.. In Edinburgh's West End.

One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. You can really tell they care about making great food! Highly recommend the Cortona, and the Nutella latte is both delicious and beautiful
The quality of the ingredients is great and you can really taste it! Bringing Edinburgh the real schiacciata fiorentina deal!
